Many of Ree’s family photos dotted her cookbooks which number seven in total since her first was published in 2011. Fans have watched her children grow up, attend college, get married, and start their own lives.

Therefore, when Ree snapped some new portraits of daughter Alex and her husband, Mauricio Scott, on the ranch, she continued a sweet tradition. Fans have come to rely on these moments where Ree documents her life and shares the photos.

Ree Drummond welcomed her first grand dog to her family in January 2023. Alex and Mauricio Scott, her daughter and son-in-law, gave George his fur-ever home shortly after the holiday season ended.

“I’m a grandmother,” Ree wrote in the caption of Alex and Mauricio’s first post regarding their new addition. Subsequently, the couple has kept fans updated on George’s growth and how the adorable pup has fit seamlessly into their family.

Alex honored George in February 2023 for National Golden Retriever Day. She wrote she would “take any excuse to post this cuteness.” Alex used a nickname, “Georgie Boy,” and said the pup was fluffy, cuddly, playful, and food-obsessed.

Alex discussed her wedding day in an interview for The Brides of Oklahoma. She was “thankful” for all who took part in making the stunning event successful.

“Our wedding day was the absolute best day of our lives. It is all slightly a blur but in the best way! From getting ready with our wedding parties to the ceremony to the reception, every bit of it was perfect,” she wrote.

“The ceremony was really special and emotional, and our reception was just a BLAST – the most epic dance party ever! The best part of it all was being surrounded by all of our family and friends,” she concluded.

Drummond first announced her Pioneer Woman clothing line with Walmart back in 2020, and since then, she’s developed new looks for each season, complete with cowboy boots, cute handbags, and plenty of dresses and sweaters. Drummond recently expanded into sleepwear, and on April 27, she shared photos of her and her older daughter, Alex, modeling her new summer pajamas and robes on Instagram.

“It’s bright, colorful, gorgeous, and so comfy,” Drummond described the line. However, not all fans shared in the admiration for the clothes that Drummond had. Rather, it received some harsh criticism in the comments.

“It reminds me of old ladies clothes,” one user commented. “I’m trying to like them … she should not have her young daughters model.”

“This stuff is too busy,” another person wrote of the patterns Drummond chose.

“Who ever is designing your clothing line needs to go back to the drawing board,” someone else added. “Not a flattering look.”

Drummond’s clothing line is known for being full of bright colors and floral patterns. It’s based on her own looks, and anyone who watches her show knows she typically wears flowy, brightly-colored tops and plenty of flowers.

While there are plenty of internet trolls who will stop at nothing to pass an insult, a number of Drummond’s fans had good things to say about the line — and if you ask us, the sleepwear collection certainly is a reflection of Drummond’s own style.

“I’ve got a hot date with these jammies,” one person commented on Drummond’s photos, followed by a heart-eyes emoji.

“Bought the yellow set … It is super soft & comfy!!!” someone added.

“If you don’t like it, don’t buy it! But the ugly comments are just gross,” another user wrote, coming to Drummond’s defense.

Drummond has always used her clothing line to express her own sense of style, and it receives plenty of praise despite some users giving backlash. The clothes are available at Walmart and sell at extremely reasonable price points. Drummond’s bathrobes and pajama sets cost just $20 each. Her handbags are all in the $18-$32 range, while her sneakers are $34 and the cowboy boots are $40.

Drummond didn’t respond to any of the criticism, and it’s unclear whether her fall clothing line — the next in her launch — will reflect any changes as a result of the negative comments.

As each of her children attended college, living away from home for the first time, Drummond shared her thoughts on social media. In January 2023, she described how she felt packing up Todd to drop him off at his new school.

She told how Todd previously visited South Dakota for a game day visit and bought a onesie for one of his high school coaches, who’d just welcomed a new baby girl. Drummond spoke of how the baby wore the onesie during Todd’s football award banquet.

“Today, I loaded my vehicle with all of Todd’s things, including different plastic organizer boxes I’d labeled ‘First Aid/Medicine’ and ‘School Supplies’ and the like. Tomorrow, we pull away from the ranch before daylight to take Todd to South Dakota, where he’ll be attending college and playing football,” she explained.

Drummond continued, “Next week, I’ll be back home…probably wandering around the house and looking under cushions and pillows for granola bar wrappers and random sweaty socks or other things that allow me to pretend that Todd is still home. If this made you cry, you, too, have taken your baby to college. Can you let me know if I will survive this? Thank you.”

Ree Drummond is one of the Food Network’s most recognizable personalities

For the past 12 years, Ree Drummond has become one of the Food Network’s most beloved and recognizable personalities. As the star of The Pioneer Woman, she’s taken a homespun approach to cooking, sharing her family, friends, and special recipes with viewers.

Her simple blog, where she documented ranch life in Oklahoma, grew from where she shared her thoughts on parenting, homeschooling, and cooking to an empire. Today, Drummond is not only a Food Network mainstay but also the owner and operator of The Mercantile, Charlie’s Sweet Shop, P-Town Pizza, and The Boarding House.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Drummond was asked about The Pioneer Woman and how it has impacted her small town of Pawhuska, OK. “Oh gosh, I just feel such pride for Pawhuska,” The Pioneer Woman star explained. “It’s not really about me and my businesses as much as just the community, the amazing people here.”

These fantastic people include Phil Kane, who Drummond has watched grow up. How are he and The Pioneer Woman star connected?

Ree is best friends with Phil Kane’s mother, Cyndi

Cyndi Kane is known to Pioneer Woman fans as Ree Drummond’s best friend, Hyacinth. She and her family have appeared for years on the Food Network series. Viewers have watched Kane grow-up on camera as he palled around with Drummond’s sons Bryce and Todd.

Eagle-eyed American Idol and Pioneer Woman fans recognized Cyndi as she celebrated her son’s golden ticket to Hollywood on the series’ March 26 installment. Kane performed a song titled “Osage County,” an homage to his hometown.

In an interview before his performance, Kane said he is a student attending Belmont University for songwriting. He joked to series host Ryan Seacrest that he writes songs about “roads and girls.”

Subsequently, his song paid homage to what Drummond said she loved about her small town, including Friday night football games and gravel roads. Katy Perry said Kane was “authentic,” while Luke Bryan called him the “country Jackson Browne.” Lionel Richie told Kane he “ticked all the boxes” and was “brilliant.”

At the end of the video, mom Cyndi asked if her “little songbird” was coming out. She wrapped her arms around him when she realized he had a golden ticket in his hand to move on to the next round in Hollywood.

The Kane family appeared on The Pioneer Woman for years. Cyndi and her clan have appeared in episodes where they swapped kids and celebrated holidays with the Drummond clan. They met when Drummond moved to her husband Ladd‘s ranch in 1996.

“Hyacinth and I became BFFs as adults,” Ree said, according to Closer Weekly. “We both married ranching families in Osage County, Oklahoma. My first friend was Hyacinth when I married and moved to the middle of nowhere.”

“Our children are fifth-generation friends,” she said. “We found out that not only were our in-laws the best of friends, but their parents and the generation before that, so it’s almost like Hyacinth and I were pre-destined to be best friends.”

In fact, Drummond thanked Hyacinth in the acknowledgment section of her first book, The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Recipes from an Accidental Country Girl. She said her pal “lost so much sleep over whether I’d meet my cookbook deadline that she came to my house once a week and forced me to cook until I was finished. I love type-A friends. I love you, Hyacinth.”

The Pioneer Woman airs new episodes Saturdays at 10 a.m. EST on the Food Network. American Idol airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.

Ree Drummond’s The Mercantile has become a popular tourist destination for fans of The Pioneer Woman. Located in the Food Network star’s hometown of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, The Mercantile is just one of many attractions that fans can visit to get the full Pioneer Woman experience. If you are planning a summer road trip to Pawhuska, here are 10 things to know before you go.

10. Ree Drummond’s hometown is loaded with Airbnb superhosts

If you want to spend more than an afternoon in Pawhuska, you will need a place to stay. Located just steps from The Mercantile are the Prairie Cottages, which are tiny houses you can rent through Airbnb. There are actually a number of superhosts in the area, giving plenty of lodging options to those who wish to avoid a hotel.

9. Pawhuska, Oklahoma, has hotel options for any budget

For fans who want to stay in a hotel, there are a few options in Pawhuska that will fit any budget. The budget-friendly Mabelle has rooms for under $100 per night, complete with four-poster beds, garden views, and vintage decor.

There’s also the Historic Whiting Hotel Suites, which is located near The Mercantile and the rest of downtown Pawhuska. This cozy option features rooms with private balconies and kitchenettes. The luxury hotel in the area is the Frontier Hotel Pawhuska, which has sophisticated wild west decor and stunning rooms with a farmhouse style and tons of country fabrics.

Ree also has her own inn called The Boarding House, a historical building located right off Main Street. It’s a major hot spot in town, and it’s located near The Mercantile.

8. The Lodge only offers tours on certain days

Ree and Ladd Drummond renovated the Lodge on their Oklahoma ranch back in 2008, with plans of using it as a guesthouse. Instead, her blog took off and she became a Food Network star who needed a place to film her show.

Now, the Lodge is where Ree films her episodes and it includes a test kitchen, a prep space, a prop room and an office. You can tour the location on certain days, thanks to Ladd. It was his idea to offer tours.

“The Lodge is 18 miles out of town on an unpaved road. I thought somebody would get a flat tire,” she admitted on The Pioneer Woman blog. “But Ladd pointed out that people are coming all the way to Pawhuska to visit our store and restaurant. He wanted to expand their experience.”

7. Visit The Mercantile when you first get to town

Even if you aren’t ready to eat or shop at The Mercantile when you arrive in Pawhuska, you should still stop by as soon as you get into town if you have plans of touring the Lodge on the Drummond Ranch where The Pioneer Woman is filmed.

Between 8:30 and 4pm, The Mercantile is where you can get your tickets for the Lodge — which is open from 9am to 5pm on tour days. One ticket is issued per group, and an employee there will give you instructions and directions. There is no limit to the number of tickets given out on tour dates, and they are absolutely free.

6. Be ready for long lines

The Pioneer Woman is popular, and Pawhuska attracts thousands of guests throughout the year. If you visit during peak times, you should expect long lines at The Mercantile. They will wrap around the building, but the wait is worth it. The service is fast and the lines move quickly. Just remember to factor in a wait if you are planning to eat at the Merc.

5. Ree Drummond’s The Mercantile serves HUGE portions

When you finally make it to the front of the line and get seated to eat at The Mercantile, be aware that the prices are a bit high and the portions are gigantic. The meals are incredibly delicious, and every plate is loaded with double the food that you need. So, plan on sharing a plate or taking home some doggie bags with enough food for another complete meal.

4. Leave some room in the budget for souvenirs, plus time to browse

When you visit The Mercantile, remember to save some cash for shopping. There is a massive selection of quintessential Oklahoma souvenirs for sale, including Ree Drummond gifts and cookbooks, pottery, and other products made in Oklahoma.

3. You will be talking about the bathroom

Ladies, don’t skip the bathroom when you visit The Mercantile. Even if you don’t need to use it, it’s worth taking a look because it is absolutely beautiful. We promise the bathroom at The Mercantile will be a topic of conversation after your trip to Pawhuska.

2. You don’t have to be shy when touring The Lodge

When you make it out to The Lodge, there are more things to do than just look around and tour The Pioneer Woman set. You can relax in the living room that was decorated by Ree’s assistant Haley Carter, or you can check out the views from the patio.

“We invite people to poke around and open drawers,” Ree says. “Although sometimes I wish I had them organized a little more!”

Many fans have actually written notes or left surprises for Ree in drawers, the fridge, and other unexpected places.

“Not long ago my son Todd found two huge boxes of Eggo waffles someone left. He really appreciated that,” she says. “Those notes and trinkets warm my heart.”

1. Don’t forget the rest of Ree Drummond’s hometown

The Mercantile and The Lodge are the places to go for all things Pioneer Woman, but don’t forget the rest of Pawhuska. Ree also has an ice cream and candy store called Charlie’s Sweet Shop, and her own pizza place called P-Town Pizza.

Just outside of town, there is the Tallgrass Prairie Reserve, where you can see bison in their natural environment. There is also The Constantine Theater, which offers live shows and performances. And, there’s a fabulous antique shop called Sister’s Attic.

Pawhuska is a charming town full of history and culture, with a lot of great places for tourists to visit. Just remember, if you want to visit The Lodge to see where Ree films her show make sure to check the tour date schedule first.

The Pioneer Woman star Ree Drummond announced a brand-new addition to her spring collection. Here’s what she revealed about her new boots and handbags.

Drummond first announced the launch of her clothing line in 2020. Fans had been requesting a Pioneer Woman clothing line for years, so she finally decided to give them what they wanted.

“The idea has been in my head for many years, but in recent months, the reality of it has started to fall into place and I’m so excited!” said Drummond in a 2020 issue of The Pioneer Woman magazine. “I started by deciding the shapes of pieces—length, details, how they fit.”

Drummond continued, “Then I focused on color and pattern. It’s very important to me that the clothing be gorgeous and great quality but affordable. I’m hoping to launch the clothing this fall at The Mercantile, both in stores and online.”

Whenever Drummond posted a picture of one of her outfits, fans would often ask where she purchased her blouses. They would also ask her to start her own clothing line. Drummond already sold tops at The Mercantile, but die-hard Pioneer Woman followers wanted more.

Drummond took to Instagram to announce new additions to her fashion line. She said she’s “in love” with the new line. The post features a collection of boots and handbags. She says new clothing will be added soon.

“The PW fashion game is comin’ in this spring, starting with the cutest/prettiest handbags, shoes, jewelry, and ahem…boots!” posted Drummond on Instagram. “I’m in love, I’m in love, and I don’t care who knows it. New designs, new approach (wait till you see the clothes in a couple of weeks!) and it’s going to be fun! The link to all the new things is in my profile. I hope you find something that makes you happy!”

Ree Drummond’s style

Drummond spoke to People about her Walmart clothing line and the types of clothes she likes to wear. The Accidental Country Girl prefers to wear loose clothing even though she has lost a significant amount of weight. She likes to be comfortable.

“I found that I love the same clothes,” says Drummond. “My size may be a little bit smaller, but I still love the [loose] silhouettes. A little ruffle here and there. Empire waist. I still like the relaxed fit with enough fitted little details that it doesn’t look like I’m wearing curtains. It’s still very flattering. I’m still loving the same style.”

Many fans loved the new Pioneer Woman items. Fans took to Instagram and Facebook to share their thoughts. One fan on Facebook said the white boots looked like the boots worn by dance teams during a football game. Another fan simply said, “love this!”

Although many fans were impressed with the collection, some people weren’t thrilled with the offerings. A fan said some of the Pioneer Woman items had an “elderly lady” vibe. Said the commenter, “Let’s see something more cosmopolitan.”

Ree Drummond kicked off empty nest life with some gorgeous sunset walks and she’s taking her fans along. Drummond and her husband Ladd’s last kid moved out and the couple is figuring out how to navigate the next chapter of their lives. So far, daily walks are heavily in the mix.

Ree Drummond shared a look at her empty nest journey

On Jan. 19, Drummond took to Instagram to post a beautiful sunset picture that gave a glimpse at what her empty nest life is like. The Pioneer Woman star stood smiling with the sun setting behind her, writing simply in the caption, “Empty nest, day four. We’re walking…we’re walking…”

One of Drummond’s editors wrote about the empty nest life in a blog post on The Pioneer Woman website.

“A lot has changed in Ree Drummond’s life recently. She drove her youngest son Todd off to college so now she’s officially an empty nester!,” they wrote. “She’s not one to sit around and cry about it though (okay, maybe a few tears were shed), and she’s settling back into her routines.”

They added, “One thing she can absolutely still count on? A stroll with her husband Ladd on the ranch, taking in the gorgeous evening sunset.”

Ree and Ladd Drummond prepared for their empty nest chapter

On Nov. 29, 2022, Drummond gave a life update on Instagram and explained how she and her husband were getting ready for their last child to leave the nest

“Todd’s leaving for college in five weeks, and Ladd and I are actively trying to establish new activities together as the empty nest approaches,” she shared in the caption.

“So we take evening walks together now! Well, we’ve done it the past two evenings,” she continued. “But still… I couldn’t wait to share the news. As we walk, we pick up trash that has blown in from Kansas. So at least Ladd can tell himself he’s working and not just walking. Friends, wish us luck.”

Fans shared words of encouragement about the empty nest adjustment

Drummond’s fans had plenty of encouragement in the comments section. “The biggest adjustment was learning to cook for 2. The nest also refills with ‘sons’ and ‘daughters’ and grandchildren,” one of her followers shared.

Another fan wrote, “Plan some activities for Ladd and you to enjoy together — a movie or a special dinner. This is a time for you to reconnect as a team of two. It’s a little tough, maybe, but part of life’s journey.”

One of her followers shared, “My wife and I are older… when the nest has been empty for a little while, you’ll be reminded of why you and Ladd got together in the first place. This part of life is more fun, trust me.”

Other fans encouraged her to “enjoy the time” and “hang in there.”

Ree and Ladd are leaning into their next chapter but had a big family gathering for the holidays

Transitioning to the empty nest chapter of life is certainly an adjustment. No doubt, Ree and Ladd are finding things a lot quieter around the ranch now that their kids are gone. Walking is a great way to exercise, spend quality time together, and catch amazing sunsets in the process.

The whole Drummond crew just spent the holidays together on vacation and had some amazing fun, based on the Food Network star’s social media and blog posts. No doubt fans will see more of the Drummonds reuniting to spend quality time together as a family.
