‘Found’: Margaret Presses Jamie to Open Up About His Disappearance [Exclusive Clip]
Margaret Reed’s long-lost son has reappeared – maybe?
In the Feb. 13 episode of NBC’s Found, Jamie Reed resurfaced after going missing more than a decade ago. Margaret was understandably overjoyed to be reunited with her child. However, there were troubling signs that Jamie isn’t who he says he is. Those red flags – such as Jamie’s missing mole – gave Gabi pause, but Margaret is focused on rebuilding a relationship with the man she believes to be her son, as seen in this exclusive clip from the show’s Feb. 20 episode.
Margaret tries to bond with Jamie in the next episode of ‘Found’ Season 2
In the scene from “Missing While Grieving,” Margaret (Kelli Williams) and Jamie (Parker Queenan) stop by a coffee truck for a pick-me-up. She slips right back into mom mode when she gently questions his triple-shot espresso order, wondering if he should be drinking that much caffeine.
“I’m not six anymore,” he fires back, adding that he barely slept the night before on an uncomfortable motel mattress.
Margaret reminds him that he’s welcome to return home. Jamie replies that he’s “not ready,” raising questions about why he’s stalling about reuniting with the rest of his family. He then brings up a new case. (Suspicious much?)
“So, I heard Gabi’s message,” he says. “Sounds like M&A has a case … I could help. Aren’t the first couple of days someone is missing the most important?” (Last week, Jamie was also asking questions about his mom’s work at M&A.)
Margaret tries to turn the conversation back to Jamie’s experience, encouraging him to tell her about his first few days as a missing person. He quickly deflects.
“I actually can’t remember,” he replies.
Is Jamie hiding something?
What to make of Jamie’s odd behavior? On one hand, it all makes sense. Jamie’s been missing for years, and in that time, he’s grown from a child into a young adult. He’s been abruptly thrust back into his old life, and that’s bound to be strange and uncomfortable, even if he is glad to have found his family. Nor is it surprising that he’s hesitant to open up about his experiences. Every person responds differently to trauma, and Found isn’t a show that’s necessarily going to give all its characters a neat, happy ending.
On the other hand, it’s hard to ignore the signs that this person might not be Jamie at all. First of all, the real Jamie had a mole on his elbow, which this man does not. And when the team reviews footage of his bus station reunion with Margaret, the encounter looks suspicious. Plus, it’s strange that Jamie happened to reappear the same day that Gabi (Shanola Hampton) was arrested for kidnapping Sir (Mark-Paul Gosselaar).
“It’s just too much of a coincidence,” Gabi said to Dhan (Karan Oberoi) last week. We have to agree.
Found airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC. Episodes stream the next day on Peacock.
