Big changes are coming to HGTV’s Love It Or List. The network has renewed the fan-favorite home renovation show for another season, but long-time designer Hilary Farr won’t be back.

Love It Or List It premiered in 2008 and followed Farr and real estate agent David Visentin as they helped homeowners deal with their not-quite-right homes. Farr worked on transforming properties so that they better met the homeowners’ current needs, while Visentin tried to convince them to trade up for a better place.

The new, eight-episode season will maintain that format, with familiar HGTV face Page Turner stepping into the designer role. Turner has appeared on Fix My Flip, Flip or Flop Nashville, and the competition series Rock the Block. Episodes will premiere in the summer of 2025.

“HGTV fans first came to love Page Turner on Flip or Flop Nashville and Fix My Flip and were introduced to her competitive side in two seasons of Rock the Block,” said HGTV’s head of content Loren Ruch. “Her extensive background in real estate and design will be a superpower as she enters into this celebrated real estate rivalry. We cannot wait to watch her give David a run for his money.”

Farr appeared in more than 250 episodes of Love It Or List It. In December 2023, she announced that she was leaving the series, which she said had become
“boring.”

“I’ve been doing the show for years and I have loved doing it,” she told Vulture. “But in the last season, which we did in Canada, it just felt too much like work. It felt very stale. It’s a very formulaic show.”

The grind of filming, especially during the pandemic, also wore on Farr. In late 2020 and early 2021, she was filming Love It Or List It in Toronto and Raleigh, North Carolina, and her other show, Tough Love With Hilary Farr, in Philadelphia.

“[T]he pandemic played a huge part in my decision,” she said. “The degree of difficulty has been huge …  I was bouncing back and forth, and in between that I couldn’t get to Canada because of the pandemic. It was an extraordinarily stressful time.”

Farr added that she didn’t have any issues with her co-host, with whom she’s long had a friendly rivalry. But she was ready for something new.

“I’ve always loved working with David and the actual work was great, but as you say, behind the scenes, the design, the difficulty, the supply-line issues, the delays … everybody was stressed, and it just felt different,” she said. “It was taking up too much of my life and it was boring.”
